I had a wonderful time. I’m very self-conscious and always spend the latter half of an evening inwardly kicking myself for saying something dumb. I love blogging because it gives me time to think about how I want to say something. In real conversation my mouth tends to get ahead of my brain and I have to reel it in and figure out what kind of damage was done. For that reason, I tend to mostly listen.
Last night was great fun. There were a lot of fascinating conversations and I had a hard time picking which to pay the most attention to.
Joan has some nice pics. Enjoy.

Sounds like you had a blast!
Half way through the evening I looked around to listen to everyone talking away like they’d been friends forever. It’s quite amazing really.
It was great meeting you.

Hate that I had to miss it! I was off doing glamorous magazine-y things, interviewing and photo shoots and such. I hope you weren’t the only redhead there!
Sorry to have missed you last night. And I can relate to what you say about self-consciousness, though I can and do experience it in blogging, too, albeit in a different way. It’s interesting to me to think about this, with blogging and writing in general– fiction writers who create/write self-consciously.
FYI, I think you need to reset to Eastern time!
The redhead ratio left a lot to be desired last night. I felt thoroughly outnumbered.
I had a great time.
Peg, I think I know what you mean. It’s one of the reasons I pretty much refuse to reread anything I’ve written, once I’m satisfied. If I go back later, I feel juvenile and embarassed by what I had written.
I tried to fix the time once, I think that’s how it became stuck on Pacific. A friend of mine said it looked like Jay Stecher’s column had kept me up all night. I’ll try again.
Great meeting you last night too Heather, look forward to reading more of your blog (if only I had something worth reading – give me a few more posts to get things interesting…)
Pfft don’t shoot yourself down, give it time. It was nice meeting you, as well.
