Fessin’ Up
I squealed like a little girl this morning.
There are times and places I expect bugs: window sills, porches, under trees and logs, etc.
I do not expect them to fall out of the laundry as I’m transferring clothes from the washer to the dryer. The evil thing leapt out of the shirt I had in my hand, waved at me (or maybe gave me the bird, I don’t speak spider), and ran under the washer.
The worst part is knowing that big honker is still alive; that’s one tough mother. Have you seen the spin cycle on an HE washer?

I hate spiders and would of screamed, too. The only thing I hate more than spiders is snakes…
Our washer/dryer is out in the garage. As we use rags and stuff I will put them in a basket by the washer. One day as I grabbed a pile to put in the washer a snake slithered out…
Ummm…It survived the wash?? Some mutant spider you’ve got there. Maybe we won’t be visiting tomorrow.

I have an image in my head of you clinging from your laundry room ceiling going “Eeeeeeeeeeee!!!”
Spiders I can handle… It is the element of surprise that freaks me out and gives me the heebies…
That’s the Lowcountry for you. Only one thing tougher than the spiders and that’s our cat sized palmetto bugs. EWW those things creep me out. But I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else

When I first moved to the south (Florida) the Orkin lady told me that Palmetto bugs would fly towards a flash light.. and that’s when I started doing much more in the dark!
I think I have childhood bug horror memories. Even those that will not bite me freak me out! I have been known to cry if they touch me, too! I can kill them if I feel they are trying to attack me! LOL
LOL Heidi, I distinctly remember being chased down the hall by kamikaze palmetto bugs. The thought of them getting in my hair completely and utterly skeeves me.
